Bowens’ recruitment intensifies
SNOW HILL, N.C. - Although Reggie Bowens missed one event in Saturday's Shrine Bowl Combine due to a nagging ankle ailment, his numbers were undoubtedly among the best of all the linebackers at the event, particularly on the track, where he ran a blistering 40-yard dash.
"I didn't run my shuttle. Everything else I was allowed to do," he said.
The 6-2, 214-pound Bowens not only had the best 40-yard dash time of the linebackers at the Combine (4.41 seconds); he demolished the competition. The next-closest time among the outside linebackers was nearly a quarter-second behind Bowens' time, and the next-best time of all the linebackers (Kevin Reddick's 4.50) was nearly a full tenth of a second behind.
