Carroll going nowhere
Trojan fans endured a severe shock to their system on Tuesday when Pete Carroll admitted he had talked with the Miami Dolphins.
But Carroll made it abundantly clear after Dwayne Jarrett's press conference that he isn't going anywhere. Carroll also addressed Jarrett leaving, his future with the team and the latest on the assistant coaching front.
Dozens of media members gathered in Heritage Hall for Jarrett's expected announcement that he was opting for the NFL.
"I love those guys," Jarrett said about his teammates with tears in his eyes. "It is hard, but I have to do what is best for my family."
Carroll felt that another year of seasoning would have been good for his star receiver, but supported his decision.
"Could he have bettered himself by staying another year? Of course he could have," Carroll stated. "Could he have made more money? Sure."
