Versatile lineman getting major recruiting looks

Devils Illustrated Andover, Mass., Phillips Academy offensive lineman Chris Shannon picked up a pair of early offers from Duke and Maryland, but the other schools showing him significant interest indicate he could have a few more to consider in the near future.
Notre Dame, Northwestern, Stanford, Boston College, Michigan, and Virginia are also involved with the 6-6, 290 pound Shannon, who has impressed college coaches with his ability to perform at any line position.
"Most of the schools are probably looking at me as an offensive tackle," Shannon said. "But one of the things that I think sort of sets me apart from other kids is my versatility. I can play all the positions. I can long snap, and I've played center so hopefully that we'll help. Some schools recruiting me have players ahead of me at tackle...but I can go in and play wherever I'm needed."
