NOTEBOOK: Yeldon apologizes for throat slash gesture
T.J. Yeldon faced the ire of his coach, Nick Saban, after his second quarter 4-yard touchdown run in Alabama's 49-42 win against Texas A&M on Saturday. Monday afternoon he apologized.
After scoring, the talented sophomore hopped to his feet and made a "money" gesture with his thumbs and index fingers, mocking Aggies quarterback Johnny Manziel, who did the same motion earlier in the season and last season. Yeldon then did a "throat slash" with his hands. The actions drew an unsportsmanlike penalty and the outrage of his coach.
