Duke football got an early jump on the class of 2014 when it secured a commitment from Zavier Carmichael late Sunday night.

The 5-foot-11, 207-pound outside linebacker participated in the Blue Devils' first camp of the summer over the weekend and just hours after arriving back to his home state of Alabama, Carmichael picked up the phone and dialed his area recruiter to inform him of his decision.
