Bulldogs land first JUCO commit
Mississippi State picked up its 21st commitment on Thursday when Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College center Dylan Holley gave his pledge to remain a Bulldog.
The 6-foot-3, 305-pounder is the first JUCO commitment in MSU's 2012 class and will enroll in classes during the spring semester.
"I am a very happy man and glad I am going to play for Mississippi State," Holley said. "I went to see them play earlier this year and I love the way they play with toughness. Coach (John) Hevesy is always pushing his guys and they play tough and I believe I fit that style very well."
Holley, who is originally from D'Iberville, Miss., had an offer to Southern Miss out of high school but chose to sign with Gulf Coast and has been the Bulldogs starter at center the past two seasons.
The two-star prospect also had offers from UAB, South Florida, East Carolina, Marshall and South Alabama.
Gulf Coast wrapped up the regular season with an 8-1 record and begin postseason play Saturday against Northeast (Miss.).
