Quarterback Brian Taylor from Harnett Central High in Angier, N.C., was one of four well-regarded quarterbacks from the state to participate in the Shrine Bowl combine held last Saturday at Eastern Alamance High in Mebane, N.C., but Taylor was on the only one of the four to actually go through the testing.

Taylor checked in at 6-foot-2, 197 pounds, and he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.63 seconds and the shuttle in 4.80 seconds. He did 16 reps at 185 pounds on the bench press and posted an impressive 32.7-inch vertical leap.

On the recruiting trail, Taylor has one major offer and that's UNC. NC State though continues to express serious interest.
